After a freshman-sparked fourth-quarter run erased an 11-point deficit for Cardington and brought them within a 41-40 margin of visiting Mount Gilead on Tuesday, the Indians used poise and strong defense to pull out a 49-45 win over the Pirates.

Both Highland wrestling teams competed at New Lexington over the weekend, with the boys wrestling Saturday and the girls taking the mats on Sunday.
Mount Gilead swimmers in league meet
Jan. 24 was Senior Night for the Mount Gilead swim team. The team hosted a sprint meet and honored not only their seniors, but those from the visiting teams of Wynford, Willard, River Valley, Pleasant and Elgin.
