Happy Wanderers take leap day trip


Thirty happy wanderers boarded a new Cardinal Transportation coach at the Drug Mart parking lot on Thursday, Feb. 29, to visit three unique businesses in Columbus. The “Leapin’ Into 2024” excursion was planned by coordinator Linda Ruehrmund.

Program using ‘D&D’ to foster job skills


The Morrow County Ready for Hire program at the Tomorrow Center in Cardington uses “Dungeons & Dragons” to teach high school students important job readiness skills. The Ready for Hire program is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-7 p.m. and is open to all Morrow County students in grades 9-12.

Whitney’s legacy honored


The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) Board of Governors voted on Wednesday, Feb. 14, to approve a joint resolution with the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) in memory of Robert H. Whitney. Three $500 scholarships will be awarded in his memory during the 2024 Franklin B. Walter program on Tuesday, March 12, at 6 p.m.

Leap year babies will celebrate this year


Leap year’s extra day on Feb. 29 rolls around again this year as it does every presidential election and Olympics year. It’s a special day for us leap year babies to celebrate a true birthday once every four years.
