COLUMBUS – A newly released report from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Geological Survey shows the state’s mineral resources produced $1.7 billion worth of geologic commodities in 2022. For a ninth straight year, the total value of all nonfuel industrial minerals exceeded $1 billion.

After suffering a stinging defeat in 2022 by 21 votes, the Cardington-Lincoln Public Library Board of Trustees was determined to get its ballot measure passed this fall. It was overwhelmingly approved by voters of the Cardington-Lincoln Local School District by 206 votes on Nov. 7.

Incumbents throughout Morrow County varied well in the Nov. 7 general election.

In 1986, the Little Prides & Joys Mothers’ Club founded the Mount Gilead Clothes Closet to provide free winter clothing for needy Morrow County school children in grades K-12. This season marked the 38th year of service to the county.

The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) applied for and has received the High Performing ESC designation from the Ohio Department of Education.

The Cardington-Lincoln Board of Education accepted the resignation of Treasurer Brenda Miller during its regular meeting on Nov. 13.

On Friday, Oct. 27, over 350 Morrow County ninth graders attended the second annual MoCo Career Expo. Students from Cardington, Gilead Christian, Highland, homeschool, Mt. Gilead, and Northmor were in attendance. The event was held at the Morrow County Fairgrounds and Gilead Christian School/Gilead Friends Church.

The Cardington Village Council discussed the possible donation and placement of a new sign from the Friends of Cardington at its Nov. 6 meeting.
