After missing her junior year of basketball at Mount Gilead High School due to an injury, Candace Millisor was able to rebound for a strong senior year

Due to that season, which saw her play a key role on an Indian team that advanced to its first-ever district championship and wind up with honorable mention recognition in the KMAC, she is now moving on to continue playing basketball for Tiffin University.

“It just felt like a family atmosphere,” she said of her choice in college. “It was pretty easy to make the decision.”

Millisor, who will major in nursing at Tiffin, noted that it wasn’t easy to recover from injury, but the success she experienced with the Mount Gilead program this year was a great reward for the work she had to do.

“It was a long, hard process, but it was worth it,” she noted.

She also expects it to be difficult to quickly earn playing time with Tiffin, noting that it will take a lot of work and continued improvement.

“It’s going to be very challenging,” she said. “I’m going to have to work every minute of every day to get up there.”

Along with basketball, Millisor is looking forward to college life in general. She said she’s looking forward to the experience in general.

“Just making new friends and starting off a new life, basically,” she said.

However, while she is looking forward to Tiffin, she will miss her time with the Indians.

“The small community and all my friends and family,” are things she said she would miss.
