After finishing her senior year at Highland High School, Jada Mullins will move on to Tiffin University, where she will continue her soccer career.

“I liked their campus a lot,” she said in describing why she picked Tiffin. “They have a nice soccer stadium, indoor and outdoor.”

Mullins plans to major in both forensic psychology and criminalistics with the goal of either going into the FBI or becoming a medical examiner.

When it comes to her sport of choice, she noted that she’s played soccer since being in the fifth grade.

“I really loved playing with friends,” she said. “It’s easy to me and something can can go out and do whenever.”

At Tiffin, she expects to play at forward and possibly also in the midfield. She noted that she’s had to work on her game to get to the level of being able to compete at college.

“I’ve gotten better ball control and gotten faster,” she said. “And understanding passing at angles and stopping the ball with your foot.”

She still expects the college game to be a challenge she’ll need to get accustomed to.

“I think college is a whole other level,” she said. “It’s still for recreation, but more serious. A lot of it is about getting better.”

Overall, she is looking forward to the college experience as a whole.

“I’m really excited to go to college and live on my own,” she said. “It’s nice to know I made it through high school and can start my life after high school.”

Mullins also has a number of good memories from her time with Highland, including work done to get younger people into soccer.

“It was nice to teach them and see their love for soccer grow and to spread your love of it to other people,” she said. “I’ll miss my team and all the memories we made and I’ll miss some of the teachers.”
