Lights put up
The village of Cardington is glowing with Christmas lighting. Adding to the beauty, two groups have placed lights at the district’s two school facilities.
The Cardington-Lincoln FFA, under the guidance of advisor Erin Wollett, decorated a portion of the area in front of the high school with Christmas lights and the fourth grade students of Lori Levings, assisted by Wollett and the FFA students set a wood crafted tree adorned with lights at the elementary school on Nichols Street.
The tree was made by Cardington resident Jack Edgell and Rita Castle, also a Cardington resident, created wreaths for the district building entry ways.
Speaking on behalf of the Cardington-Lincoln Board of Education, member Quinn Maceyko thanked all those responsible for the decorations.
Adopting families
The Cardington FFA Chapter participated in a community service project on Dec. 3 by adopting families for Christmas. That evening, 15 Cardington FFA members shopped online for five local families in the community.
Usually, the chapter would take about 40 youngsters and visit a Walmart to shop but due to Covid-19, the chapter shopped virtually this year.
Later, on Dec. 22, the chapter delivered gifts to the families while following Covid-19 guidelines. The chapter is grateful to serve our community and ready to assume more community service projects.
