The Rite Aid at 510 W. Marion St. in Mount Gilead officially closed on Nov. 30.

The last day for business of the Mount Gilead Rite Aid was Thursday, Nov. 30.

Rite Aid Manager Amber Campo said surrounding Rite Aid pharmacies remaining open are in Marion, Galion, Crestline, Fredericktown and Mount Vernon. Campo said she will be working at the Crestline Rite Aid in the future.

The sign now posted on the Rite Aid front door states that beginning Friday, Dec. 1, customers’ prescription records will be at Kroger Pharmacy in Mount Gilead at 555 W. Marion Road.

The Rite Aid website has a description of the restructuring of the Rite Aid Corporation due to its bankruptcy settlement. It explains that the closing of some “underperforming stores” is part of the restructuring process of the company.

The Mount Gilead Rite Aid is no longer listed by the company as one of the 173 Rite Aids in Ohio.
