The Northmor boys’ cross country team started its season off in style by winning their home invitational Monday afternoon.

The Golden Knights won the 12-team Northmor Invitational with 64 points, while second-place Pleasant had 83. The team also was able to boast the individual champion, as Ryan Lehman finished first in a time of 17:08.08. David Blunk also placed in the top 10, running seventh in 18:23.48.

Thomas Keen took 17th in 19:12.81, while Vinton Naylor placed 19th in 19:34.44. Bryce Cooper was 24th in 19:55.29, Levi Hunter took 31st in 20:45.17 and Owen Yunker ran 33rd in 20:52.24.

Also, Dane Creswell was 45th, Jaxon Bechtler was 54th, Carter Thomas was 60th and Anthony Scheibe was 85th.

The Lady Golden Knights finished second in the 10-team girls’ race. Their total of 63 was only topped by Fredericktown’s score of 61.

Kate Lehman led the team with a fourth-place finish in 21:50.3. Ryann Brinkman followed in eighth with a time of 22:54.3, while Natalie Hunter took 11th in 23:38.4. Maizy Brinkman placed 23rd in 24:55.93, Haylee Walker took 24th in 25:03.56 and Shelby Cooper finished 29th in 25:31.14. Hannah Kanagy placed 31st in 25:50.37.

Also, Macie Witherall was 35th, Elizabeth Ruhl was 36th, Kelbie Kightlinger was 47th, Harley Barler was 54th, Katie Statler was 57th, Ella Creswell was 63rd and Emily Littleton was 94th.

Highland’s girls finished fifth in the race with a total of 150 points. The Lady Scots were led by Kindylle Mallow’s 22nd place finish. Her time was 24:52.72. Riley Matthews took 26th in 25:16.25 and Katelyn Schade placed 32nd in 25:58.69. Morgan Snider was 43rd in 27:34.43, while Abbie Pruett took 43rd in 27:34.43, Audrey Weaver finished 30:55.34 and Lizzie Beck claimed 74th in 31:36.62.

Also, Cara Chamberlain was 79th and Skylar White was 87th.

Highland’s boys finished sixth with 126 points, with Matthew Miller finishing second in 17:50.71 and Cael Gilmore placing 11th in 18:44.45. Colton Clarkson placed 35th in 21:03.66, while Konner Blaney took 36th in 21:06.45. Daniel Grandstaff finished 53rd in 22:06.79, Brendan Lester took 56th in 22:15.75 and Henry Spence took 61st in 22:40.55.

Also, Caden Barsic was 64th, Ethan Harmon was 65th, Brody Bonecutter was 73rd, Morgan Kline was 80th, Harken Peck was 102nd, Justin Berthold was 104th, Jett Black was 111th, Bryden Bisbee was 114th, Micah McLeod was 115th, Jacob Bowen was 116th and Cash LaFever was 126th.
