Suspicious Person – A caller advised of a man lying on the railroad tracks behind Westview Tailer Park. The man was located and advised that he was trespassing and to stay off the tracks.

Animal Complaint – A woman of North Rich Street complained of her neighbor taking her cat to the Humane Society in Wyandot County. It was previously a feral cat that she was taming. The neighbor stated that she didn’t realize that she was taming the cat. The humane society is refusing to return the cat since it wasn’t chipped. It is now a civil matter.

July 19

Suspicious Person – Dispatch advised of a male walking on South Main Street and stumbling into the roadway. The officer made contact. There were no signs of impairment. The officer advised him to stay out of the roadway.

July 20

Investigative Complaint – The officer received a complaint from the Woodside Village Care Center staff of alleged neglect of a resident.

July 21

Domestic – Caller advised of her 16-year-old daughter biting her and shutting her hand in the door.

Caller advised of a camper knocking down cable lines on North Main Street. The officer removed the lines from the road. The sheriff’s department was unable to locate the camper involved.

July 22

The manager of Kroger called about individuals in front of the store with political signs and handing out political information. They were on the side of the road but on public property.

Accident – A woman turning into a drive cut her turn too sharp and hit another vehicle causing property damage in front of AutoZone.

A caller advised of a man on a bike with a gun. The officer contacted the man. The gun was a broken BB gun.

While conducting a business check, the front door of On The Square Antiques was unsecure. The officer searched the building and contacted the key holder.

July 23

An officer was called about a man driving up and down the street revving his engine. The officer contacted the man. He stated that he wouldn’t do it again.

Investigative – An officer was called to West High Street where a grandmother had locked her 15-year-old granddaughter out of the house. The officer spoke with both parties and told the grandmother that she cannot lock her granddaughter out. They agreed to stay in their own rooms the rest of the night.

Assist – An officer was requested to speak with a crash victim at the hospital to determine if he was intoxicated. Contact was made and findings reported to the deputy.

Assist – An officer responded to assist a deputy on U.S. Route 42 for a domestic with shots fired. The incident was a domestic dispute, but the shots were fired by a neighbor who was practicing.

While on patrol, an officer noticed a man on Chartwell Street practicing with a bow. The officer advised the man that shooting, including archery, is not permitted in the village limits.

July 24

Assist – An officer was requested to assist the deputy in the search of a man who ran from him. The man had a felony warrant for armed robbery. K-9 Nik and the officer tracked the man’s scent for a while but then lost it.

July 25

Well being – An officer was dispatched to Westview Drive where a woman was believed to want to harm herself. The officer contacted the woman. She stated that she would not do that.
