Northmor’s Drew Hammond was named a first-team All-Ohioan in Division IV baseball this year.

Three Morrow County athletes earned All-Ohio recognition in baseball and softball this spring.

Both baseball players were from Northmor and were named All-Ohio in Division IV. Drew Hammond was given first-team recognition as a third baseman, while Grant Bantley was selected as a utility player.

Highland softball player Stevie Asher was a Division II second-team selection. She was recognized as a pitcher.

All-KMAC track and field

A handful of Morrow County track and field athletes and coaches were given big honors by the KMAC. Mount Gilead’s Madilyn Elson was named the Runner of the Year in girls’ track. For boys’ track, both Kevin Ruhl of Northmor and Lauren Huelsman of Mount Gilead shared Coach of the Year honors.

Highland Scots

Highland had a number of athletes recognized by the MOAC for their efforts during the spring sports season.

Two coaches were also recognized by the league. Donnie Kline was named the baseball Coach of the Year and Abby Steele earned those same honors for softball. In girls’ track, Juliette Laracuente-Huebner was named the Athlete of the Year.

Laracuente-Huebner also was named to the first team in girls’ track. Margaret Hennell was an honorable mention selection.

In boys’ track, a number of Highland competitors were named to the second team in Hunter Bolton, Gavin DeBord, Grath Garee, Gavin Hankins, Joel Roberts, Toby Rogers, Kieran Taylor and Dylan Thomas. Hankins also received honorable mention recognition, as did Darren Styer.

In baseball, Brock Church, Kort Sears and Hayden Kline all were named to the first team. Zach Church and Jayden Collins were both selected to the second team, while Zach Schmidt was the team’s honorable mention pick.

Stevie Asher and Guinevere Jackson were selected to the first team in softball from the Scots. Aubree Bellamy was named to the second team, while Abby Jordan was an honorable mention selection.
