The Mount Gilead Library posted a packed schedule of events, programs and classes that begin the first week of September and run through throughout the fall.

Two new programs are ‘Stich One, Pearl Too’ and a book club for adults.

The first book club meeting will be on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 6:30 p.m. on the third floor. The group will begin by discussing all the things they have previously read to get ready for the first book selection.

Stitch One, Pearl Too will be held with library employee, Pearl.

There will be sharing of ideas and new patterns while those attending can work on projects. The meetings will be held on the third floor on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. The first meeting will be on Sept. 13 at 10 a.m.The program aims to troubleshoot participants’ problems and teach new patterns.

The Checkers and Chess Club will take place on the third floor on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. with Pete and Rhonda Dettra. The first club meeting will be starting on Sept. 13. The club is open to all ages and skill levels.

Tiny Tot Story Hour for infants – four year olds is already underway on Tuesdays at 10:30.

Story hour for children 3-5 years old is held on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Both story hours are held with Miss Lori in the children’s department in the first floor.

Library events in September include a book talk with Tam Dalrymple on Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. She will discuss her recent keepsake book about her parents Pete and Ruth Dalrymple.

The first fall ‘Family Movie Night’ will be held Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. The movie will be the 2016 version of the Jungle Book.
