Tennessee man waives extradition in Muni Court

10/30/2015- Tyler Enix will soon be on his way back to Knoxville, Tennessee.

The man wanted for the murder of his estranged wife, Kimberly, and kidnapping of their daughter Brooklynne, 2, appeared in Morrow County Municipal Court this morning before Judge Lee McClelland to waive his right to extradition.

Enix was stopped and arrested by Morrow County Sheriff’s deputies yesterday morning after a Mt. Gilead man spotted him at the I-71 and SR 95 intersection. Steve Adams had just heard an Amber Alert for the missing child two minutes before he spotted the dark sedan with the Tennessee plates. He followed the vehicle and gave deputies directions all the while until they caught up with Enix on State Route 314 just north of Johnsville.

The girl was unharmed and turned over to Job and Family Services temporarily. She is back in Tennessee today.

Morrow County Attorneys Andrew Wick and Don Wick appeared with Enix during Friday’s hearing. Asst. Prosecutor Steve Phillips represented the county.

The hearing was brief, with Columbus media in attendance as well as Sheriff Steve Brenneman and Deputy Ed Welsh.
