At the beginning of the Big Walnut Joint Fire District May Fire Board meeting, the board promoted two to new positions. Alan Grossman has been named the BWJFD Assistant Chief. Alan began his fire service career as an Explorer with the DeWitt Fire District outside of Syracuse, NY. Also as member of the Fayetteville and Brighton Fire Departments, he has gone through the ranks from Firefighter to Batallion Chief. Alan is excited to be a part of the Big Walnut Joint Fire District since moving to Marengo in December, 2010.

Lauri Lovell has been named BWJFD Fire Chief. Lauri started her career in the fire service nearly 16 years ago with BWJFD and has moved through the ranks from Firefighter to now Fire Chief. Lovell is a career Firefighter and Paramedic with Washington Township Fire Department in Dublin. She has been a resident of Morrow County for over 20 years.
