Highland improved to 2-2 on the season with a 29-27 win over Harding on Saturday.

The Scots rallied in the second half to earn the win. They trailed 9-1 after eight minutes of play and 16-5 at the half. However, they would hold Harding to two third quarter points in closing within an 18-15 margin. They would then hold a 14-11 edge over the final eight minutes to pick up the decision.

Bryleigh Young’s six points — all scored in that fourth quarter — led the Scots.

Mount Gilead Indians

Mount Gilead was topped on Saturday by host Loudonville in girls’ basketball by a 61-25 margin.

The Indians trailed by a slim 13-9 margin after eight minutes of action, but found themselves in a 39-14 hole at the half. The score was 51-19 by the end of the third quarter as Loudonville picked up the non-league decision.
