Mount Gilead made it two in a row in girls’ basketball on Wednesday when they started the league portion of their schedule in fine fashion, defeating visiting Danville by a 63-52 margin.

After both teams scored seven in the opening period, MG was able to surge in front by a 30-26 score at the half. They would continue to pull away over the rest of the game, outscoring the Blue Devils 21-17 in the third period and 12-9 in the fourth.

Madison Fitzpatrick had a huge game for the Indians, tallying a game-high 33 points. Holly Gompf contributed 19 in the game.
