Kenyon College forward Tony Amolo was named the North Coast Athletic Conference’s Player of the Week for the period ending September 8. It’s the second time he’s earned the honor. Amolo won the award at the start of last season as well.

The junior from Lagos, Nigeria helped guide the Lords soccer team to a 3-0 start last week totaling five goals and an assist.

His best game of the season came in Kenyon’s 4-0 victory over Heidelberg September 6 where he scored twice and assisted on another. It was the eighth time in his career that he’s tallied multiple goals.

Additionally, Amolo leads the NCAC in goals scored (5), points (11) and shots-on-goal percentage (.600).

The Lords will look to continue their good start September 12 when they host Carnegie Mellon University at 3 p.m. CMU is coming off a 4-3 upset of national power and third-ranked Messiah College.
