Christmas in Cardington will take place Thursday, December 10. The Old Fashioned Christmas will begin at 5 pm and continue to 9 pm.
A tree lighting ceremony, Christmas Caroling and the arrival of Mary and Joseph is scheduled for 6 pm at the American Legion Community Park.
A soup supper will be served at the Post 97 American Legion Post Home at 5 pm.
A highlight of the evening will be the outdoor residential Christmas Light Contest sponsored by Consolidated Electric. First place prize is $100 and the second place prize is $50.
As previously announced, there will be a variety of activities and all businesses will host open houses.
The Cardington Public Library will offer a variety of activities. Guests will be Cardington authors Mindy McGinnis, who will autograph her most recent book, “Madness So Discreet,” and Tim Maceyko, who will autograph his book, Seth’s Snuggle Time Game.” Their books will also be available for purchase.
There will be ornament crafts where youngsters can make reindeer using popsicle sticks and a self serve photo booth where people can take their own photos against a holiday back up.
Cardington-Lincoln School art teacher Colton Bowers will be placing the art of 25 students for the public to view.
