(Bellville, Oh) Just because summer is here doesn’t mean that learning has to take a break! Make it a family affair and create a love of family history at the same time by enrolling in Summer Session programs being offered by the Ohio Genealogical Society. All programs will be held at the Samuel D. Islay Building, 611 State Route 97 West, Bellville, Ohio except where noted.
The one hour sessions are free and cover a variety of topics, ranging from using maps to solve genealogical puzzles to finding female ancestors.
There will also be a pair of workshops which are being offered for a nominal fee of $20. OGS President Margaret Cheney and OGS Trustee Jennifer Alford, will conduct a Beginner’s Workshop Saturday August 8 at 10 am. If you have ever wondered how to get started researching your family’s history, this is the perfect session. Then Saturday, August 8 at 10 am, join us for the Ohio Lineage Society Applications Workshop. Lineage society membership offers the chance to honor your ancestor by bringing to light their presence here in Ohio. Those who successfully complete the applications and meet other requirements will be recognized at the 2016 OGS State Conference at Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, Ohio, during a special luncheon.
