CLARIDON TOWNSHIP — A Cardington man died and two people were injured in a car crash near the Marion-Morrow county line Thursday evening, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Merrill Carpenter, 78, died of his injuries after a 2014 Dodge Dart driven by Emily Ulsh, 34, of Caledonia, struck the car in which he was a passenger at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Ohio 95 and Ohio 746, according to a news release.

Carol Carpenter, 74, of Cardington, was driving a 2015 Honda Civic east on Ohio 95, with Merrill Carpenter in the passenger seat, when Ulsh failed to stop at a stop sign while heading south on Ohio 746, according to the release.
