The Mount Gilead swim team travelled to Kenyon College to compete in the 15th annual Small Schools Invitational.

Despite missing eight members of the team, the swimmers did well competing against 18 other teams. Several swimmers earned times as good as their season best from last year, with both the boys and girls finishing fifth in the meet.

Among the top relay finishes, Kamry Grandstaff, Camryn Travis, Abby Griffith and Gabby Mowry came in fourth in both the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay. Hayden McClelland, A.J. Newson, Luke Fraizer and Wyatt Mowry earned fifth place points in the 200 medley and 200 free relays.

Individually, Luke Fraizer came in second in the 100 breast and fourth in the 200 IM, Abby Griffith was third in the 100 back and fourth in the 200 IM. Hayden McClelland was fourth in the 100 back and sixth in the 50 free. Wyatt Mowry was sixth in the 100 breast.

Several team members added additional points in their individual events, including Gabby Mowry and AJ Newson in the 50 free; Kamry Grandstaff in the 100 free and 100 back; Carson Mowery in the 100 free and 100 back; Camryn Travis in the 100 breast and Wyatt Mowry in the 200 free. Griffin McClelland, Adriana Hershner and Emma Kincaid also competed in the meet.

The team will be back at the Marion Y on Wednesday against Harding and River Valley.
