The Chesterville Village Council is pleased to announce it has negotiated a new contract with the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office. The safety of the village residents is always foremost on the minds of the council. This new contract with the sheriff is just one way the council is looking out for the citizens of Chesterville.

The new contract is much the same as last year’s contract, having deputies patrolling the village on a random basis with the hopes of keeping our streets free of reckless drivers while adding an increased sense of security locally.

The presence of the sheriff’s deputies in the area has been a notable crime deterrent and encourages drivers to maintain our local 15 mph speed limit.

When asked how he feels about the renewed contract, local resident Bruce Bowman said he’s “glad to hear that they will be continuing the good work they did last year” and is “looking forward to an even safer next year.”

The new contract with the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office will run through Jan. 31, 2024.

Council meetings, which are open to the public, take place on the third Thursday of each month and begin at 7 p.m.
