The Barracuda swimmers braved the smog and haze to compete at Upper Sandusky on Wednesday, June 28. This was a tri-meet that also included Crestline. The Barracudas came in second overall and turned in some great swims.

“It was a strange day for sure! “said coach Dina Snow. “The light was disorienting, and we had a hard time telling what time it was or if we would have enough light to finish the meet. Having the three teams together made the meet run longer, but our final relays were able to get the job done before it got dark!”

A number of Barracuda relays came in first, including the 9-10 girls medley relay (Jackie Edwards, Trinity Robinson, Emma Marquis and Lacey Haughn); the 11-12 girls medley relay (Adylynn Brown, Avery McClelland, Chloe Bolton and Addison Rabun); the 15-18 girls medley relay (Cassady Irwin, Kendall Neal, Callie Beary and Emma Bolton); the 9-10 girls free relay (Lacey Haugh, Harper McClelland, Jackie Edwards and Emma Marquis) and the 15-18 boys free relay (Hayden McClelland, Jaxon Tinch, Luke Fraizer and Nate Rabun).

Several relays earned second place points: the 13-14 girls medley and free relays (Abby Griffith, Camryn Travis, Kayla Young and Makayla Carlisle); the 15-18 boys medley relay (Hayden McClelland, Luke Fraizer, Nate Rabun and Jaxon Tinch); the 9-10 boys free relay (Holden Jenks, Paxton Colegrove, Brayden Jones and Carter Marquis); the 11-12 girls free relay (Chloe Bolton, Addison Rabun, Adylynn Brown and Avery McClelland) and the 15-18 girls free relay (Cassady Irwin, Kendall Neal, Emma Bolton and Callie Beary).

Individual first place finishes were earned by Connor Robinson in the 100 IM, 50 free and 50 breast; Evan Irons in the 100 IM, 50 back and 50 breast; Callie Beary in the 100 IM, 50 fly and 50 breast; Abby Griffith in the 50 free and 50 back; Nate Rabun in the 50 free; Trinity Robinson in the 25 breast and Luke Fraizer in the 50 breast.

Scoring second place finishes were Cassady Irwin in the 100 free; Hudson Jenks in the 25 free; Abby Griffith, 100 IM; Luke Fraizer, 100 IM; Trinity Robinson, 25 free; Chloe Bolton, 50 fly and 50 breast and Nate Rabun, 50 back.

Bringing home third place points were Chloe Bolton, I00 IM; Jaxon Tinch, 100 IM; Carter Marquis, 25 free; Emma Marquis, 25 free; Makayla Carlisle, 50 free and 50 back; Cassady Irwin, 50 fly and back; Hayden McClelland, 50 back; Avery McClelland, 50 breast; Camryn Travis, 50 breast and Kendall Neal, 50 breast.

Gabriella Bateman, Lucille Jarvis, Norah Jenks, Abby Kincaid, Brody Leffler, Nolan Hershner, Griffin McClelland and Aaron Rabun also competed and it was the first meet for Holden Jenks, Hudson Jenks, Carolyn Barr and Ethan Hanshaw.
