Cardington baseball picked up a regular season win at Mount Gilead on Monday by a 12-1 margin.

The Pirates tallied 13 hits in the game, with Denton Garrison getting a double and single. Dillon Minturn, A.J. Hall and Wyatt Wade all had two singles. Wade also pitched all seven innings to earn the win. He struck out six and pitched a five-hitter.

Judah Reid led Mount Gilead with two doubles. Hayden Pangborn suffered the loss. He and Cameron Vickers combined to strike out eight and walk nine.

Highland Scots

Highland cruised past host Worthington Christian to pick up an 18-3 non-league baseball win on Monday.

Kort Sears had a triple and two singles for the Scots, finishing with a six-RBI outing. Zach Church added a double and single, while both Brock Church and Jace Brooks finished with two singles.

Brooks also earned the win. He, Sears, Zach Church and Zachary Schmidt all pitched in the game, combining to give up seven hits and two walks, while striking out five.
