With warmer weather in September and October this year, leaves have remained green much longer than usual.

Leaves at the Mount Gilead State Park and around the state are just now beginning to change with the nighttime drop in temperatures.

The Mount Gilead State Park should be at its peak color for the Snowflake Festival next week on Nov. 2 and 3, with Country Breakfast served on Nov. 3 and 4.

It will be a good week. to hike the rebuilt trails and try out the new walking bridges.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources website has a good map of the areas of Ohio where leaves are just beginning to change and the parks and areas that are at their peak of color. Visit the website at: www.ohio.org/season/fall.
