Four Cardington-Lincoln High School junior girls have been selected to attend the June 2016 session of Buckeye Girls State.

Sponsored by Jenkins-Vaughan Auxiliary Unit 97 of the American Legion, the girls were named during the unit’s March 13 meeting. They are Nadia Kerman, Audrea Oldham, Katherin McConnel and Jessica Shook.

In other matters the unit conducted a memorial service for four members who have passed away: Jean Bond Rupert, Marilyn Spires- Pierotti, Greta Hack and Amy Carroll.

Betty Cook, membership chairman, said the unit has achieved 68 percent of its goal.

Following a discussion, the unit agreed that its members would assume the project to weed the downtown flower barrels this summer.

The next meeting of the unit will be held April 19.
