Republican Tom Whiston announces endorsements


Mount Gilead Commissioner Tom Whiston released an impressive list of public endorsements today in his bid for State Representative in Ohio’s 87th House District, which encompasses all of Morrow, Crawford and Wyandot counties with portions of Marion and Seneca counties.

Knox County Commissioner Roger Reed, Knox County Commissioner Thom Collier, Knox County Commissioner Theresa Bemiller, Columbiana County Commissioner Mike Halleck, Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz, businessman Jack Fishburn, pharmacist Brad Wood and MCH Board Member Carolyn Beal.

“The overwhelming support across north central Ohio over the course of this campaign demonstrates the confidence our federal, state and local elected officials have in my capacity to represent our conservative values in Columbus,” said Whiston.

In addition to his list of endorsements, Whiston has raised over $35,000 for his campaign with the support of scores of donors, with nearly all his financial support coming from within the five-county district.

About Tom:

Tom Whiston was born and raised in Mount Gilead and still calls the town home today. He graduated from Mount Gilead High School in 1976. He then went on to graduate from the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in 1981. Since then, he has enjoyed working as a third-generation pharmacist at family-owned Whiston Pharmacy in Mount Gilead. He is a proud father of four (Jonathan, Whitney, Joseph and Hannah) and a new grandfather to one (Oliver). He is also a proud and faithful Christian and enjoys attending church at Trinity United Methodist in his hometown.

Tom is a lifelong member of the Republican Party and firmly believes in small government, free markets and is pro-life. Tom currently serves as a Morrow County Commissioner and is on the Morrow County Republican Central Committee. He previously served as the mayor of Mount Gilead for 11 years. Tom’s campaign boasts overwhelming support from the community and its Republican leaders, including endorsements from Congressman Pat Tiberi and dozens of other local leaders and endorsements.
