The Morrow County Republican Women’s Club was presented the award of “Chapter of The Year” at the Ohio Republican State Dinner last month.
Morrow County Republican Women’s Club President Pat Davies accepted the award for the group on stage at the OSU Ohio Union in Columbus. Davies also got to meet Vice President Mike Pence who was a speaker at the conference.
“I am thrilled to have represented the Morrow County Republican Women’s Club at the Ohio Republican State dinner and to be on stage and receive this first ever Ohio Federation of Republican Women award for Chapter of The Year,” Davies said.
Davies said that there are many wonderful clubs in Ohio and their club was humbled to be recognized. She said the award represents many hours of service to the Ohio Republican Party, Republican candidates in Morrow County and the Morrow County Republican Party.
“It took all of us working together for the good of the Republican family and community,” Davies said.
The dinner was held at the Ohio Union Building held in the Archie Griffin Grand Ballroom on July 22, 2017. A welcome was given by Ohio Republican Party Chairman, Jane Timken. Jane introduced guest speaker Rob Portman and special guest Vice President Mike Pence.
Republicans listened to Mike Pence explain issues that our country is facing with jobs, health care and how decisions made will affect our country and this state’s future.
Other guest presenters were, Secretary of State, Jon Husted; Congressman, Jim Renacci; Attorney General, Mike Dewine and Lt. Governor, Mary Taylor.
Local attendees were: Dan Osborne, Dick and Pat Miller, Tom Whiston, Larry and Brenda Harden, Tim and Penny Porter, Dixie Shinaberry; Shelby Morr, Steve and Devra Ritz, Ken and Pat Davies, Tim and Connie Sharrock, John and Kelly Hinton and Vincent Melcher.
