Mount Gilead Middle School staff creates GoFundMe page to help raise funding for class trip to Washington DC


In an effort to raise funds so that all Mount Gilead Middle School students can attend the class trip to Washington DC, principal Jon Grega and staff have created a GoFundMe page for community contributions.

This year the school is scheduled to head to nation’s capitol Oct. 25-28.

“Our school takes a trip to Washington, D.C. every two years,” Grega said at last night’s board of education meeting. “Though most families struggle to meet the costs of the trip, there are a few families that really try and fall short of the expected amount.”

The individual student fee for the three day event is $600. Donations to the GoFundMe page go toward covering the difference for students who are unable to make the payment.
