To the Editor,

Here it goes again, “Clean Power Plan is vital tool,” and “Global Warming is human caused.” Two speculative and erroneous letters to the editor, printed in the August 19, 2015 Sentinel.

“The Global warming, and carbon pollution hysteria is based on fear not science. EPA’s unelected bureaucrats and former unelected bureaucrats want and need to have the power to regulate carbon, in the name of controlling so-called global warming, and carbon pollution, thusly raising prices and taxes. “

“It is clear that global warming debates was never really about saving the world, it was and is about controlling the lives of every American. MTI’s climate scientist Richard Lindzen summed it up perfectly in March of 2007 when he said, “Controlling carbon is a bureaucrat’s dream. If you control carbon, you control life.”

“With all the hysteria, all the fear, all the phony science, man made global warming is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.”

The last three paragraphs are quotes from the book, The Greatest Hoax, by U.S. Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe.

Time magazine ran an article in 1975 about the treat of global cooling. And then in 2006, Time magazine ran an extensive article about global warming. Their picture on the front page was of a last remaining Polar Bear on a last remaining cube of ice, saying, “Be very worried, Be very worried.” The fish and wildlife service at that time estimated that the Polar Bear population to be between 20,000 to 25,000, whereas in the 1950’s and 1960’s the Polar Bear population was estimated at between 5,000 and 10,000.

If we are to control air quality (clean air), so-called carbon pollution from power plants ,according to Linda Diamond, lack of doing so causes “climate change,” then what should be done with all the many active volcanoes that are spewing all the many tons of toxic and polluting gases and pyrolysis particles into the atmosphere?

Lindsey Kohlenburg’s letter, “Global warming is human caused.” 100,000 years ago the earth had one of its great ice ages. How did all that ice melt? Global warming (climate change) .

This has happened to our earth from the beginning. We had a medieval warm period, 800 to 1300 A.D. and the little ice age of 1300 to 1900 A.D. Then it warmed up again. In the 1930’s we had a very hot period in the U.S. The infamous “dust bowl” in the plains. The severe drought in the Mid West and West. The year 1936, the hottest year on record in the U.S. Ohio had weeks of over 100 degree F. temperatures. States to the West and Northwest had weeks of temperatures 113 to 119 degrees F. After the 1930’s temperatures moderated, more climate change.

Dr. Tom Wigley, one of the global alarmists, and Al Gore’ s own scientist said in 1997 that even if the carbon elimination protocol were fully implemented, it would only reduce global warming temperatures by 0.06 degrees Celsius by 2050. Such a small amount is hardly measurable.
