The Crawford County Community Concert Association announces its next concert show, “Iconic Songs of the 70’s with AJ Swearingen and Jayne Kelli on April 5.

This dynamic singer-songwriter duo is based in Florida and has been performing nationally and internationally since their musical folk-pop rock union in 2012. Their silky rich harmonies and detailed guitar arrangements echo the sound and spirit classic artists of the past. Being heavily influenced by the iconic song-writers of the ‘70’s, Swearingen & Kelli developed their emotive and nostalgic show from this era.

This show will feature songs we remember from the likes of Cat Stevens, Fleetwood Mac, Gordon Lightfoot, Simon & Garfunkel, The Eagles, Carol King, Jim Croce, Joni Mitchell and Neil Diamond.

Since merging their talents they released a fresh collection of songs in 2014 including Swearingen’s, “You’re Not Here With Me” also recorded by folk icon Tom Rush. AJ’s musical journey started in Bethlehem, PA where he honed his signature sound on vocals and guitar.

Infatuated with the guitar, Swearingen began lessons at the age of 13 and began performing professionally in his late teens. He studied the Julliard vocal method privately for over a decade. AJ also performs as a lead vocalist in the highly acclaimed symphony pops show “The Sounds of Simon & Garfunkel”.

Kelli began writing and recording her songs at the age of 15 in the small town of Lapeer, MI. Just a year prior she began her self taught study of the guitar. Her first release, “Black or Gold” caught the attention and had critics called her a formidable talent with elegantly poetic and emotionally charged songs. Together and separately, AJ and Jayne have shared the stage with artists including: Kenny Rogers, Crystal Gayle, Livingston Taylor, John McCutcheon, Dave Mason and Many more.

At this show all “concert goers” will be given receive new &/or renewal membership applications for the Concert Association’s 2016-2017 Season which will include: Shades of Buble’ a 3 man Michael Buble’ tribute show; Nashville & TLC TV favorite The Willis Clan a 12 family member county band; Christmas with the Letterman; A Band Called Honalee that features the music of Peter, Paul & Mary, Moma’s & Papa’s and other folk rock & Americana music; and lastly the ever popular Phil Dirt and the Dozers!
