CARDINGTON — Colonel Kevin Hickman, retired USAF, a 1988 Cardington-Lincoln High School graduate and Fulton native, will be the speaker at the Memorial Day service to be held in Glendale Cemetery Monday, MAY 30.

He will be introduced by Pat Drouhard, retired superintendent of Cardington- Lincoln Local School and chairman of the Civil War Restoration Committee.

The event will begin with a parade that organizes on Park Street at the Post 97 American Legion home at 12:30 p.m. It will set off at 12:45 p.m. All veterans will be recognized with special recognition of Viet Nam veterans The parade, led by the Cardingotn-Lincoln High School band directed by John Brehm, will march to Glendale Cemetery.

Giving the invocation at Glendale Cemetery will be Pastor Paul Turner, United Methodist Church and the welcome will be given by Cardington Mayor Susan Peyton.

Giving General Logan’s Orders will be Brooklyn Belt, CLHS Class of 2022 Marine Corps Recruit.

The Gettysburg Address will be delivered by Jacob Belt, CLHS Class of 2022 Marine Corps Recruit.

Colors will be posted by members of Post 97 and Auxiliary Unit 97. The Memorial Wreath will be placed by Unit 97 members and the flag will be raised by members of Squadron 97 of the Sons of the American Legion.

The band will perform several patriotic numbers.

A salute to the Fallen Comrades will be given by the Post 97 Rifle Squad followed by Taps, played by the band. “Amazing Grace” will be played by Ryan Praskovich, bag piper. The benediction will be given by Post 97 chaplain Jim Ruth.
