Highland traveled back to Mount Vernon on Saturday to compete in the Yellow Jacket Relays.
The boys finished third with 57 points, as they took second place in five different relays. Jonah Maggs, Zach Baker and Jacob Ware took second in both the shot and discus relays, as did the 6400-meter team of Tyler Bowen, Dalton Lee, Travis Mentzer and Christian Buchholz. Also placing second were the shuttle hurdle team of Gavin Kafka, Kaden Bunting, Nathan Bentley and William Parsley and the 1600-meter team of Garrett Mentzer, Dakota Bunting, Kaden Bunting and Austyn Albanese.
In the girls’ meet, Highland took fifth place. The team of Laura Spearman, Taylor Belcher, Meg Mitchell and Sophia Thompson took second in the distance medley, while three other teams finished third: the 6400 team of Spearman, Thompson, Jena Buchholz and Clarissa Dudgeon; the 3200 team of Spearman, Belcher, Thompson and Buchholz and the discus team of Lydia Morgan, Erin Conner and Marlese Ferguson.
