Highland High School junior Taylor Thomas celebrated the Cincinnati Reds return to the Great American Ball Park on Monday, April 4, by riding in the Red’s Opening Day Parade.

Thomas is currently the reigning Ohio Teen Queen for the National American Miss Pageant system. Along with her five other Ohio sister queens, Thomas enjoyed brief moments of sunshine while riding in decorated convertibles, as thousands of cheering Reds fans greeted them along the three-mile parade route.

Before the parade, the Ohio queens posed for pictures with members of the SE Ohio Veteran Funeral Honor Team, as well as familiar team mascot Mr. Reds. The National American Miss Pageants awards 1.5 million dollars in cash, scholarships, and prizes to recognize and assist the development of young women nationwide. Having won the Ohio title last June, Thomas qualified to compete in the national pageant competition held in Anaheim, Calif. during Thanksgiving 2015. She placed top 10 in the nation.

In addition, to holding the Ohio National American Miss Teen title, Ms. Thomas is also the reigning National Teen Queen for the Captivating Pageant System. The Captivating Pageant System promotes self-confidence, poise and character building for women 13 years and up.
