The Mount Gilead softball team opened their season with a 19-2 loss to East Knox Wednesday.

Most of the damage was scored in the second inning of the five-inning contest. MG only trailed 3-2 after the first frame, but surrendered 13 runs in the second, as the Bulldogs pulled away for the win.

Madison Fry struck out one and walked two in taking the loss for the Indians. Ten MG errors played a big role in the decision. Offensively, Fry had two hits, including a home run.
