The MG sixth grade girls played host to River Valley this past Saturday. Riding a three-game winning streak, Mount Gilead came out strong versus a much taller Viking squad. Once again, MG relied up great defense and a strong inside game.

Leading the Indians was Riley McCoy with probably her best game so far. She fought for eight points to go along with her seven rebounds. She was definitely the difference maker. Charity Walters, Riley Burchett and Kourtney James each dropped in two with Kaylene Brinkman adding a big free throw at the end to seal the victory.

The Indians were led on defense once again by Burchett with seven steals. Taylor Hashman and Brinkman each helped McCoy and the rest of the Indians with five rebounds each. The lady Indians seemed to get every loose ball and thwart every attempt to score inside.

The Indians will travel to Northmor Saturday at 2 p.m. to take on the Knights.
