Northmor girls second in bowling sectionals

On Saturday, the girls competed, with Northmor, Cardington and Highland advancing as teams, along with individuals from Mount Gilead and Gilead Christian.

The Lady Knights took second overall with 3363 pins, while Cardington was fifth with 3278 and Highland took 11th with 2754. The top 14 teams advanced. Also, Gilead Christian was 21st with 2384 and Mount Gilead took 24th with 2263.

Jonathan Alder claimed the team championship. Team scores were determined by three individual games for each bowler and six Baker games.

For Northmor, Chloe Meier finished fourth overall with 530 pins, while Caitlin Adkins rolled 504 pins, Shelbey Lilly tallied 494, Alexis Yarnell had 487 and Sara Drumm finished with 365.

Cardington had two top-10 finishers in the meet. Addie Wilhelm was third with 546 pins, while Laynee Wilson took sixth with 518. Brea Arnold had 478 pins and Kayla Eubanks added 477. Morgan Walker also rolled for the team.

Highland was led by Halie O’Leary, who had 471 pins. Autumn Burson added 403, while Hailey Howard scored 400 and Sophia Thompson finished with 356. Also rolling were Sara Keen and Maddie Chaffee.

Mischelle McCoy advanced to districts with 468 pins, which was the second-best score among individual qualifiers. Kieli Griffith tallied 334, while Liz McAlister picked up 305. Also, Makaylee Kemen had 296 and Molly Krause finished with 234.

Qualifying for Gilead Christian was Lauren Millinger, who finished with 399 pins. Nadia Grubb tallied 375 and Emily Rich had 344, while Lindsay Millinger finished with 299. Tabitha Griffin and Jillian Lastoria also rolled for the Eagles.
