Centerburg was able to clinch the Blue Division title on Friday night by edging Mount Gilead 59-57 in overtime.

The Trojans jumped out to a fast start, taking a 16-8 lead after eight minutes of play, but MG battled back within a 31-28 margin by halftime. The score was 43-38 after three periods of play, but the Indians took the fourth 17-12 to send it to an extra session. Unfortunately for Mount Gilead, they were outscored 4-2 during that time to fall by two points.

Deondre Cook hit five three-pointers on his way to scoring 22 points, while Tyler Bland added four in a 16-point effort. Also, Mason Mollohan tallied 12.

Northmor Knights

Over the weekend, the Knights split a pair of contests. They topped East Knox 58-50 on Friday thanks to a big third quarter.

While they led 18-15 after one period and 29-28 at the half, it was a 21-12 third that boosted their lead to 10 points and allowed them to claim the eight-point win.

Brock Pletcher scored 19 points, hitting five three-pointers in the game. Also, Demetrius Johnson added 17.

Pleasant would break open a halftime tie with a strong defensive second half on Saturday to top the Knights 43-30 on Saturday, though.

Northmor led 8-7 after the first quarter and the game was tied at 18 at the half, but the Spartans took the third by an 8-3 margin and then outscored the Knights 17-9 in the fourth to pull away for the win.

Johnson led Northmor with 11, while Tyler Kegley added eight.

Cardington Pirates

Cardington continued to gain momentum going into the postseason with a 54-45 win over Elgin Friday.

The Pirates got off to a slow start, trailing 14-10 after the first quarter and 32-19 at the half, but began to make their move in the third. They outscored Elgin 16-9 to close within a 41-35 margin and then took the fourth 19-4 to surge in front for the win.

Garrett Wagner hit six three-pointers and scored 19 to lead the team, while Trey Williams added 16 and Skyler Bowling tallied nine.

Highland Scots

Highland rallied in the second half to top Fredericktown by a 51-41 margin on Friday.

After trailing 16-15 with one quarter finished, the Freddies took a 26-23 lead into the half. However, Highland took the third quarter 16-10 to go in front 39-36 and then outscored their opponents 12-6 in the fourth to pull away for the win.

Alex Mason had a big game for Highland, hitting five three-pointers and scoring 23 points. Also, Quin Winkelfoos added eight.
