After sharing the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference’s Blue Division title with Elgin last year, Cardington was able to ensure sole possession of the championship on Saturday with a 41-35 road win over the Comets. The Pirates are now 12-0 in league games (17-0 overall), while Elgin is three games in back. Both teams have two MOAC games remaining.

Cardington jumped out to a fast start, taking a 17-8 lead after the opening period and moving up by 10 at 23-13 at the half. Elgin got within six points (30-24) after three quarters of play, but the Pirates were able to maintain that lead to earn the win.

Kyndall Spires led Cardington with 13 points, while Summer Morgan hit a trio of three-pointers to tally nine points and Alyson Adams added eight.
