Mount Gilead took over their road non-league game with Pleasant in the second quarter on their way to a 64-49 win.

The Indians led 11-10 after the opening period and increased that to a 32-21 margin by halftime. After both teams scored 16 in the third quarter, MG took the fourth by a 16-12 margin to increase their margin of victory from 11 to 15 points.

Tyler Bland had a huge day for the Indians, hitting five three-pointers and scoring a total of 25 points. Alijah Keen added 11 more.

Highland Scots

The middle two quarters were rough for Highland on Tuesday in a 57-44 loss to Buckeye Valley.

The Scots only trailed 13-12 after eight minutes of play, but were outscored 25-10 in the second and 13-9 in the third to fall into a 51-31 hole. While they outscored the Barons 13-6 in the fourth, they would not be able to make up that deficit.

Both Alex Mason and Quin Winkelfoos tallied 13 points for Highland, while Mack Anglin added nine.

Cardington Pirates

After a deadlocked first quarter Tuesday, Worthington Christian pulled away from Cardington in topping the Pirates 58-39.

Both teams scored seven points in the first quarter, but the Warriors jumped out to a a 25-11 lead by the half and increased it to a 44-22 margin after three periods of play. The Pirates took the fourth 17-14, but weren’t able to shoot their way back into the contest.

Derek Goodman led Cardington with 14 points, while Trey Williams scored 10 and Devin Pearl added eight.
