Cardington jumped out to a big lead over visiting Utica on Thursday and held on to take a 54-46 win.
The Pirates took a 18-10 lead after the first quarter and boosted it to a 35-23 margin by the half. Utica outscored them 11-5 in the third, but Cardington cemented the win by taking the fourth 14-12 to finish on top by eight.
Mikayla Conrad led Cardington with 16 points, while Kynlee Edwards added 14 and Sage Brannon scored 10.
Highland Scots
Highland fell 61-27 at Buckeye Valley on Thursday. The Scots only trailed 9-4 after the first quarter, but were outscored 23-9 in the second to fall behind by 19.
The Barons then took the third by an 18-6 margin and the fourth by a 13-6 score in order to pull away over the second half. Taylor Belcher finished with 11 points to lead Highland.
