Cardington’s girls maintained a two-game lead in the Blue Division by topping Fredericktown 45-35 Tuesday. The win boosted the Pirates to 6-0 in league play, while both Northmor and Centerburg are 4-2.
The Pirates needed to rally in the second half, as the Freddies led 11-8 after the first quarter and 25-22 at the half. However, Cardington dominated the third quarter by a 13-2 margin to take an eight-point lead and then clinched the win by taking the fourth 10-8.
Sage Brannon led the Pirates with 11 points, while Kynlee Edwards tallied nine and Paige Clinger finished with eight.
