The Mount Gilead girls’ cross country team took second place at their own invitational Saturday, but were able to boast the meet’s individual champion.

Jenna Shipman took first place overall in 20:04.48 to pace the MG effort on the day. Hannah Bush ran fourth in 20:41.72, while Darcy Picker finished 11th in 21:42.82. Kelsey Snyder ran 14th in 22:07.89 and Micah James was 18th in 22:53.07, while Jadyn Shipman placed 22nd in 23:07.65 and Savannah Randall claimed 38th in 25:18.78.

Also, Hope Hack was 44th and Kelly Baer took 66th place.

Cardington finished fifth in the meet. Sage Brannon paced the team, running 23rd in 23:07.93, while Alicia McElwee placed right behind her in 24th. Her time was 23:38. Abby Lorimer was 39th in 25:19.18 and Bailey Shafer placed 41st in 25:25.35. Jessica Shook took 47th in 26:04.42, Destiny Williamson ran 53rd in 27:56.49 and Ashley Drury took 65th in 33:37.

Gilead Christian did not field a full team. For the Eagles, Lindsay Millinger finished the race 42nd in a time of 25:35.5.

Fredericktown won both the girls’ race and that for the boys. In the boys’ race, Mount Gilead took third place, as Austin Hallabrin ran second in 16:15.26. Casey White took 10th in 17:36.12 and Nick Weiss ran 14th in 17:53.75, while Kyle Ciballi was 17th in 18:11.81. Kyle White finished 24th in 18:37.02, Tyler Clark was 35th in 19:20.49 and Trevor Ball placed 37th in 19:24.28.

Also, Colton Clark was 44th, Gavin Robinson finished 45th, Sy Shipman finished 54th, Isacc George ran 57th, Connor Page took 79th, Josh Conaway was 82nd, Nathan Johnson ran 101st and Xavier Nells took 103rd.

Cardington finished in fourth place. Jacob Long was fifth in 16:34.73, while Josh Queener took eighth in 17:20 and Mike Queener ran 11th in 17:45.2. Quinn Maceyko placed 30th in 18:55.33 and Greg Osborne finished 52nd in 20:10.33. Also, Spencer Benson was 56th in 20:34.65 and Jakob Edgell was 71st in 21:14.53.

For Gilead Christian, who did not field a full team, Brad Mohre finished 25th in 18:38, Sean Linder was 26th in 18:41.52 and Justin Jones took 42nd in 19:33.09.
