The Cardington Lady Pirates finished third out of 10 teams in Saturday’s Hardin Northern Invitational, while the boys’ team finished eighth out of 11.
The girls’ team got a win from the 3200-meter relay team of Loey Hallabrin, Gracie Meade, Magi Hallabrin and Morgan White with a time of 10:57.8. Loey Hallabrin added a win in the 1600 with a time of 5:55.79 and also took second in the 800, while Hazel Jolliff won the 300 hurdles in 52.08. White claimed first in the 3200 with a time of 13:07.19 and Greenawalt cleared 4’6” to win the high jump.
The quartet of Jolliff, Greenawalt, Alexis Crone and Olivia Holt took second in the 400 relay. Crone also was third in the 400, as was the 1600 relay of Jolliff, Magi Hallabrin, Loey Hallabrin and Holt.
For the boys, Tyler Rose won the 200 in 23.25 and also placed second in the 400. Jason Bockbrader added a second-place finish in the high jump.
Mount Gilead Indians
The Mount Gilead boys’ track and field team placed third out of 12 teams in Friday’s Forest Bruner Invitational hosted by Ashland Crestview.
Garrett Lamb Hart won the 110 hurdles for the Indians in 16.31 and also was third in the 300 hurdles. Also winning an event was Michael Snopik, who took the 800 in 1:58.43.
Will Baker and Reed Supplee tied for second place in the 3200, while Owen High was second in the high jump.
The quartet of Owen High, Logan High, Kyan Davis and Quade Harris finished third in the 400-meter relay. Jayce Decker added a third-place finish in the shot put.
The girls’ team finished seventh on the day. The team’s 800-meter relay team of Grace Shipman, Asia Jones, Faith White and Madilyn Elson won that race in 1:52.34.
Michaela McGill claimed the 3200 in 11:09.9. She also teamed with Haley Pfeifer, Karley Wallace and Kimberly Staley to take second in the 3200-meter relay. Elson added a third-place finish in the 200.
