RECRUITING UPDATE

Austin Mack, a Fort Wayne Bishop Luers senior receiver/running back, who has verbally committed to Ohio State’s 2016 recruiting class, had a huge night last Friday in a 43-38 loss to Carroll.

Mack rushed 21 times for 132 yards and four touchdowns, caught four passes for 151 yards and a touchdown and returned a kickoff 99 yards for a score. A potential game-winning touchdown pass skipped off his hands late in the game.

Cam Akers, a Clinton (Miss.) junior running back, tweeted that he received an offer from Ohio State. Akers, who is a top five or top 10 running back nationally in the 2017 recruiting class, depending which recruiting analyst you consult, verbally committed to Alabama on Aug. 4.

Adarius Lemons, a Clearwater (Fla.) junior running back, tweeted he has received an offer from Ohio State, which he called “The University of Ohio State.” He also has offers from Michigan, Florida, West Virginia, North Carolina and others.

Tuf Borland, a 2016 Ohio State verbal commitment from Bolingbrook (Ill.), was credited with 25 tackles in his team’s 28-0 loss to Lincolnway East last Friday.
