The Mount Gilead girls earned another KMAC win when they competed at Centerburg Wednesday night and claimed a 51-31 decision.

The Indians jumped in front by a 15-6 margin after eight minutes of play and were up by a 26-19 count going into the half. A big third quarter allowed the team to extend its lead to 38-23 by the end of the third and they outscored the Trojans 13-8 down the stretch to clinch the win.

Holly Gompf’s 12 points paced MG in their win, while Candace Millisor finished with 11.

Northmor Golden Knights

The Northmor girls’ basketball team picked up another league win on Wednesday when they hosted East Knox.

In their 48-38 victory, the team got 14 points by Emilee Jordan and 13 more from Lexi Wenger.

Highland Scots

Fredericktown pulled away in the second half to top visiting Highland in a Wednesday night girls’ basketball game.

The teams were tied at 6-6 after the first quarter and the Freddies only held a 14-13 lead going into the half, but they were able to outscore the Scots 14-10 in the third period and 20-12 in the fourth to wind up winning by double digits.

For Highland, Kennedy Altizer hit three three-pointers to score nine points. Emma West added eight.
