On Saturday, Cardington held off a late comeback bid by Mount Gilead to pick up a 48-41 road win.

The Pirates turned a 7-6 lead after one period of play into a 28-19 advantage at the half behind a strong second quarter. They added to their advantage in the third, outscoring Mount Gilead 16-8 over those eight minutes. While the Indians outscored them 14-4 in the fourth, Cardington was able to maintain a lead down the stretch to remain unbeaten this season.

Both Beth Hardwick and Kambry Edwards scored 14 for Cardington, with Edwards connecting on four three-pointers in the game. Karsyn Edwards also hit four shots from long range in scoring 12. For Mount Gilead, Isabela Schroeter scored 15 points and Holly Gompf finished with 13.
