Cardington girls remain unbeaten

A fast start helped visiting Cardington earn a 51-41 win against River Valley on Tuesday.

The Lady Pirates dominated the first quarter in jumping in front by a 21-4 score on their opponents. River Valley battled back to within a 30-25 count going into the half, but Cardington outscored them 12-7 in the third to bring their lead back up to 10 points at 42-32. Both teams then scored nine points in the fourth, as the Pirates improved to 9-0.

Both Beth Hardwick and Karsyn Edwards hit three three-pointers in the game, with Hardwick leading the team with 15 points and Edwards scoring nine. Both Mikayla Linkous and Dana Bertke also tallied nine points in the game.
