Cardington girls blow by East Knox in Saturday win

Cardington added another win on Saturday, topping visiting East Knox by a 66-33 score.

The Lady Pirates led 19-3 after the first quarter and added to their advantage throughout the game. They led 35-14 going into the half and 50-27 going into the fourth in the contest.

Cardington had balanced scoring in the game. Mikayla Linkous led with 16 points, while Dana Bertke finished with 14 and Beth Hardwick hit a trio of three-pointers in tallying 12. Also, Karsyn Edwards had nine and Kambry Edwards finished with eight.

Highland Scots

Highland’s girls fell at Centerburg on Friday by a 39-30 margin.

In the KMAC game, the Lady Scots fell into a 12-6 hole after eight minutes of play. They trimmed their deficit to an 18-13 margin by the half, but were outscored 21-17 over the course of the second half.

Emma West finished with 13 points to lead the Highland effort in the game.

Northmor Golden Knights

Northmor’s girls’ basketball team fell at home to Danville by a 45-36 score on Saturday. No further information was available.
