Highland overcame a slow start to outlast Fredericktown by a 41-39 count on Saturday.

The host Scots only connected on one basket in the first quarter, but still only found themselves trailing by a 4-2 margin. The score was 19-14 in favor of the Freddies by halftime, but Highland battled back to tie the score at 24 going into the final period of play. Over those eight minutes, the Scots held a 17-15 advantage to pick up the win.

Savannah Fitzpatrick led Highland with 15 points, while Brylinn Tuggle added 13. Both players connected three times from behind the arc.

Mount Gilead Indians

Mount Gilead moved to 4-1 on the season on Saturday when they edged Centerburg by a 45-39 margin. No further information was available.
