Northmor earned their first girls’ basketball win of the year, moving to 1-2 with a 56-41 win over Bucyrus Monday night.

The Golden Knights got off to a fast start, taking a 21-9 lead after eight minutes of play. Bucyrus would trim a few points off that lead in the second, but Northmor still led 27-19 going into the half. However, the margin was back up to 12 at 40-28 by the end of the third and they wouldn’t be threatened down the stretch.

Lexi Wenger put up 30 points to lead all scorers in the game.

Mount Gilead Indians

Mount Gilead improved to 2-1 Monday night with a 59-31 win over Utica.

The Indians dominated the first quarter to hold a 20-4 lead after those eight minutes had elapsed. They extended that advantage to a 38-10 margin by the half and never looked back in the second half. It was 52-19 after three periods of play and, despite being outscored 12-7 in the fourth, MG still won by 28 in the non-league contest.

A 23-point showing by Holly Gompf led the Indians to victory.
